What is true love to you?
I met this man, on a cold winter night looking back I believe it was destiny....
I was bored. Bored of being a wife to a man that had no love for me. I was sitting on my back patio smoking a cigarette something I started to calm my nerves. I loved to sit and daydream about what my life would be like if I had everything I wanted. I could see it all. The wedding to the man of my dreams, house in the ‘burbs, and we'd frequently attend church. I wanted the American dream. I know, I know, we all do.
Anyway, I was home alone so I was savoring the moment. I saw car lights on the garage and thought “Here comes this nigga lord give me strength”.
Walking into the living room, I began to countdown to the B.S.
3 , 2, 1 ....
“Melissa why are all the lights on in here?” Rolling my eyes with my back turned to him I said “I need to use your truck, I’m hungry.”
“Yea, ok.” he said, “But I want some when you get back.” I literally laughed out knowing full well that wasn't going to happen. I almost threw up in my mouth. I grabbed the keys off the counter not answering him but said, “I'll be back.” I hopped in his extra corny soccer mom SUV. I just shook my head and laughed as I drove to McDonald's. I got out of the truck and started walking towards the entrance a car when the finest man I had ever seen stopped. He said “Hey beautiful.” I looked around like is he really talking to me...... He was talking to me. I was so taken by him I barely could hear what he was saying. It was cold out so I said to him “Come inside.” He had the cutest little boy in the car with him walking into the fast food restaurant. I couldn't believe it!
Once inside the restaurant, I asked him his name. “Darius.” he said. “I'm Melissa.” I replied. The cashier was trying her hardest to throw cookies at him but he wasn't paying any attention to her. He was acting like only him and I existed. Darius stared into my eyes and said “Ok Melissa, I hope to get to know you more.” “Oh, you will!” I laughed. I wanted him badly but I was a lady. We exchanged numbers and as soon as I got to the car I looked for him on social media. I found him but he had his wife as his cover photo. “No, no, no.” I shook my head. On the way home he called. I answered with “Oh, you married?” He said, “Yea.” boldly “I'm married but I mess around from time to time.” “Not with me.” I said laughing. Darius said “Let me take you out on one date.” he said. “One date” I thought, “What the heck, ok.” I whispered “But won't be none of that”.....
We met for our first date at beautiful quiet cafe. He was already sitting in the boot. Instead of sitting across from him I sat right next to him. He looked surprised. “Why that face?” I asked. He smiled “I'll tell you another day.” “Now how do you know there will be another day?” I asked laughing. “Oh trust me there will be. You looking all good.” I blushed and thought “Nigga, have you seen your sexy self.”
We talked for what seemed like hours. We had so much in common. “I want to kiss you!” I blurted out. He smiled and said, “Go for it.” I leaned and kissed him with a closed mouth first. His lips were so soft. Then I went for the gusto demonstrating my amazing kissing skills. I pulled away because I felt butterflies, something I never have ever felt on a first date.” Damn!” he whispered, “I want you so bad like right here.” I stood up and said “Let's go then!” I wanted him just as bad.
